As a member of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), Nevis has the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, Basseterre as its central monetary authority.
Bank records are only available to the account signatories. Nevis has no signed tax treaties and exchanges no banking and tax related information with any country. Banking secrecy in Nevis is strictly enforced by law.
The banks require the following personal documents from each of the beneficial owners and authorized signatories to open accounts

A notarised copy of a valid passport, with pages containing a photograph, signature and personal details.

A notarised copy of a drivers licence

A bank letter of reference on an official letterhead with name, address, telephone and fax numbers issued within the last six months

A professional reference from a lawyer, accountant or certified financial administrator on an official letterhead with name, address, telephone and fax numbers issued within the last six months

Proof of physical address e.g. original or notarised copy of utility bill, bank statement

A specimen Signature Card that has been signed by the signatories and notarised
Most of the banks require a minimum deposit of US$1,500 within one month for the activating of the account.
